Singing River Children’s Services involves the child and his or her parents or caregivers, therapists, and community support specialists to ensure they are prepared for success in school and the community.

Singing River Services works in partnership with  local schools to provide services for children at risk, and are committed to the improvement of the quality of life for each child in Jackson and George counties.

Singing River Services Children’s staff take a team approach involving not only the child and his or her parents or caregivers, but also the therapists, Community Support specialists, and the day treatment specialists. The staff works in partnership with local schools in Jackson and George counties to provide services for children at risk.

The rationale for the partnership between a mental health agency and a school system is the belief that social skills are the building blocks of society. Good social skills prepare children for success and appropriate interaction with people. A child lacking social skills or having poor social skills is not well understood by others, nor will he or she understand others well.
