Singing River Mental Health/Mental Retardation Services, Region XIV has been serving the communities of Jackson and George Counties for over 40 years. The agency was established in 1972 as one of the 15 comprehensive mental health centers in Mississippi. Also known as "Singing River Services", the agency maintains a global approach to services. It has facilities in both Jackson and George counties and offers specialized services for individuals with serious mental illnesses, developmental disabilities, chemical and other addictions. The agency also offers specialized services for the elderly and for children and their families.

Vision Statement

We are committed to improvement of the quality of life for all residents of Jackson and George Counties, with special regard for those in need, through provision of community-based therapeutic services. We believe that to accomplish our purpose we must promote community inclusion and self-empowerment through raised awareness and advocacy for those we serve. As a necessary underpinning to this provision of services we intend to create and maintain a stable organizational foundation committed to visionary growth, fiscal responsibility, enhanced work and treatment environments, and continuous quality improvement. Singing River Services is a group of professionals committed to quality care in the community we serve. With an expanse of 33 different programs we offer a variety of services to fit particular needs. This of course promotes our commitment to improve the lives of the residents of Jackson and George counties. Singing River Services believes every person should have an opportunity to self-empower and live autonomously. We support and advocate for the individual with respect and professionalism.
